This week, American Idol contestant Michael Lynche was almost eliminated following his performance of Eleanor Rigby. Britney Spears fans have been buzzing over her surprise on-stage cover of Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know”. The big story is that she sang without a backup track. There’s another story here, and it’s about the mood she conveyed by choosing the Morisette song.
Until the Greensboro concert last night, she apparently mimed her way through her Circus tour performances, singing only “a few rare vocals on drippy ballad Everytime”.
