Moodagent v2.0 has arrived

It is with great pleasure that Syntonetic introduces Moodagent v2.0!!

Syntonetic has listened to all of your feedback since Moodagent launched nearly six months ago, and it’s because of your suggestions and opinions that we now bring you this next feature-packed version. We sincerely thank you.

First, we want to tell you about the new social sharing features. Now you can broadcast your playlists on Twitter and Facebook, and your Facebook friends will have the added bonus of viewing the entire playlist. Sometimes it’s just easier to let the music speak for you.

We are also happy to tell you that one of your most-requested features – longer playlists – has been incorporated into v2.0. You can now create playlists anywhere from 1-50 songs.

American Idol: Moodagent compares Lee DeWyze and The Beatles singing Hey Jude

This week, American Idol contestant Lee DeWyze performed Hey Jude. Moodagent shows how — and how much — DeWyze changed the mood of the Beatles hit. In fact, his version more closely matches competing performances by fellow Idol contestants Casey James and Aaron Kelly than the Beatles version of Hey Jude.

The mood profile shows his cover has different settings for 4 of the 5 sliders. DeWyze changed up Hey Jude by adding a huge dose of tenderness (orange). He also dialed down the passion (red), happiness (yellow), and tempo (gray).

Hey Jude

As you can see, each version of Hey Jude generates a different playlist from my personal music collection. Casey James’ Jealous Guy places high on only one of the playlists. What playlists do you get?

Innovation at the Moodagent Lab

At the Moodagent Lab we experiment with and test new potential features for our product lines – or entirely new products and product lines. We are an agile bunch and tend to engage everyone from across our teams – the musicologists, the UXers, the software engineers and the OPS team – actively encouraging new ideas, outliners and out-of-the-boxers. We believe in innovation and ingenuity as the primary keys to maintaining our technological leadership, and go to great lengths to ensure this occurs. This includes pulling in outside innovation facilitators to get us to challenge our concepts, or flying everyone to Cannes for a weekend of charades.

The 3 Pillars of Syntonetic

Syntonetic stands on the shoulders of the music world’s brightest minds.
We create solutions that stand out in three fundamental ways:

  1. We can take any track and instantly replicate the profile judgment only a trained musicologist could make with regards to mood, emotion, genre, style, instrument, vocals, orchestration, production, beat/tempo, etc. The profiles are not statistics‚ like other products on the market, and not waveform comparisons.
